Today I witnessed my third car accident in the space of a week. In each case it could've been me had I been a few seconds earlier to where I was going. What the hell is going on out there? I've seen a guy run over a tree, a person turning left clip a car going straight the opposite way, and now a large work truck backing out of a driveway and right into a car in the street (the woman he hit was hysterical and in tears afterward). People. Driving isn't that hard. Keep it together out there.

My Marilyn Monroe jack-o'-lantern. I think it will look better when I get better lighting for her. Pumpkin-tastic!

Interesting. I actually know of zero cases of cheating while I was getting my MBA (rank laziness, yes. cheating, no.). Of course, that was the '90s... a different era, I suppose.

Question for you banking types out there: If someone mistakenly writes a check to me but puts "Christopher" in the "TO:" field is it OK for me to write "Null" afterward? Or can I cash it with just "Christopher" on it? What's the protocol here?

Pals know that I can't stand the word "pop" as a generic term for soda (where I live know) or coke (where I grew up), though otherwise I love you guys in the Washington/Oregon area, where in my experience it is at its worst. This map shows where the problem is at its worst. Though I am dying to know what the "other" terms are. "Cola," I'm sure... but what else?

Yes, that was my head on the Yahoo! home page today. Now it has been rotated out for Paris Histon and Jessica Simpson but you can still see a tiny me in the thumbnail beneath them. Right next to Homer Simpson.

WTF? Today I was brushing my teeth and I had a small cough and -- YOW! -- something wrenched in my jaw. I pulled a muscle in my mouth by coughing? Is this even possible? Now it hurts to eat or stretch my mouth open, which is probably just fine by my family members who wish I'd just shut up.
