I like Ikea in general. When I need a new bookcase or CD storage, it's my first port of call. I needed a cheap light fixture (to replace an even cheaper one in our new place), and the $4.99 price was right. But I took it out of the package and the thing was broken, literally physically broken into pieces, within 30 seconds. Amazing. Of course there's no way I'm returning it. It's not even worth the gas money to drive to Oakland to get a new one, much less waiting in that ridiculous return line.

How young is too young to start running with Baphomet?

I spent the day at the Bay Area Discovery Museum with my 3-year-old daughter. The Museum is a hands-on kind of place, geared at very young children. Part of it is an arts and crafts building, and today they had out black construction paper and white crayons on one of the tables. Surprisingly, a number of kids had left their works behind, but sitting right in the middle of the pictures of flowers, cats, and butterflies, was this little gem, which is acutally signed by one Karl Tietze.

Why didn't he take it with him? And what does the work say to you?

Discuss. (If I had comments turned on, you could discuss, that is...)

Just so y'all know, you can't take a wire stripper on a plane if it's longer than 7 inches from end to end.
