5.28.2005 TV resolution: Even Sony confesses it has no idea what the problem is, and suspects the interference from the tower up the hill is the culprit. So, I strapped on my hernia belt and solicited my father-in-law to help drag the 250 pound monster down the stairs and bring the old 140 pound monster back up the stairs. Problem solved: The extra shielding on the bottom story means there's no static down there. The old TV never had that problem in the first place. Plus, now I get HD-quality video downstairs since there's no Tivo or receiver in the way (thus I can use component video direct to the TV).
