PEOPLE OF THE BAY AREA!

The bridge tolls (non-Golden Gate) are now $3, not $2. They have been for weeks. So when you approach the Bay Bridge, you need three pictures of George Washington instead of two! If you aren't ready, you keep those of us that either know the new rate or use EZ-Pass idling in your traffic for an extra half hour, even on Saturday night.

Let's all get with the program!

Just came across this site. It's oddly out of date, but it provides an interesting (if incomplete) graph of how filmcritic.com ratings break down. Sort of.

Here's the actual breakdown of all reviews currently on the site:

5 stars: 123
4.5 stars: 229
4 stars: 667
3.5 stars: 748
3 stars: 814
2.5 stars: 587
2 stars: 690
1.5 stars: 379
1 star: 233

I have always noted the odd lack of 2.5 star reviews which blow the bell curve a bit...

When children vomit, tragedy strikes. En route to day care with cranky kid in the back seat... I hear her stop crying for one second... gulp, gulp... looks like she's choking... emergency stop... reach back to try to help and... glug, glug... puke, everywhere... even into the seatbelt mechanism... oh this is foul... call the wife... gonna need a hand on this one... she's not answering... get the kid home... hose her down... change her clothes... finally sanity returns... a few hours later, the wife comes home for her kid shift... I'm off to work... can't find my cell phone, but no matter... start to thinking about it 10 hours later... wait a sec, where IS that phone?... oh shit... I put it on the roof of the car earlier today... and forgot about it when I went to work... you can see the marks in the dust where it rattled around a bit before falling off... but where did it fall?... not in the street... no one's answering it... of course, if it got run over, that's not going to help much... nice work, Null... so hey, if you find my bronze Nextel phone in San Francisco, drop me a line, ok?

I learned to cook watching Smith (hot pan + cold oil = food won't stick; always use the back of the knife to transfer food from a cutting board into a pan). It's too bad about the groping scandals. I always wondered what became of the charges.

Jenny Turpish Slapped Me: Quizzes - Better Personality

"You are an SRDL--Sober Rational Destructive Leader. This makes you a mob boss. You are the ultimate alpha person and even your friends give you your space. You can't stand whiners, weaklings, schlemiels or schlemozzles. You don't make many jokes, but when you do, others laugh out loud. They must.

People often turn to you for advice, and wisely. You are calm in a crisis, cautious in a tempest, and attuned to even the finest details. Yours is the profile of a smart head for business and a dangerous enemy.

You have a natural knack for fashion and occupy a suit like a matinee idol. Your charisma is striking and without artifice. You are generous, thoughtful, and appreciate life's finer things.

Please don't kick my ass."
